Trim long logs from both ends

Cut long logs from both ends so the error lines survive.

Daily Digest · Edited by Osbel Morell

The technique

Huge tool logs get cut to fit the context window. Cutting only the start throws away useful error codes and cursors in the middle or end. Keeping a bit of the start, a bit of the end, plus lines with critical keywords preserves the facts the model needs under a tight budget.

How it was tested

Offline structural sim (no live model): one oversized tool payload (~782 tok) under a ~120 tok budget. Head-only truncation kept 2 of 6 critical keys. Budgeted head+tail+keyword keep kept all 6 of 6 under the cap.
