Catch answers that claim results the tools never returned.
The technique
Agents sometimes invent success: green CI when the log failed, search hits that were never returned. An alignment gate compares the final claim to tool facts and refuses stop when they disagree, so misaligned answers don't ship as done.
How it was tested
Offline structural sim (no live model): 8 alignment cases. Gate matched the expected allow/refuse decision on all 8 and caught 4 cases a naive “always accept claim” path would have slipped.
